The Build Night Breakdown: June!

Welcome back to the Build Night Breakdown! Inside, we’re celebrating PerthLUG’s June Buildapalooza with prize draws, build highlights, and the latest news and events—keeping you plugged into the LEGO scene across Perth. Cannot believe how fast this year is flying by.

Now, for those that are new here: what is this Buildapalooza build night thing?

Buildapalooza is PerthLUG’s regular social event, where on the second Monday of every month, we bring along a LEGO set and just build and socialise. We’re a friendly bunch from all walks of life. It’s just $5 for non-members to help keep the lights on. The details of where & when can be found at the bottom of this page.

Let’s dive right into all the fun giveaways with the members’ draw. This month, we had a total of FOUR PRIZES up for grabs as part of our Monthly Members Prizes. This month was a great mix of Speed Champions, Fortnite and everyone’s favorite…Minifigs!! I bet our very lucky winning members will up in the clouds, but not too red faced to accept their prizes. Hopefully they don’t get caught speeding away to enjoy these awesome sets.

Congratulations members! You may notice that a number of our winning members did not get their picture taken. They didn’t dodge the camera this time. No, rather they are simply enjoying the benefits of their membership. If you’re a paid-up member, you can still win a prize, even if you can’t attend the build night. Yet again, memberships paid off big time last Monday night.

MONTHLY RAFFLE

We are not quite done with prizes yet, though. The prize for the Raffle this month is the amazing 43247, The Lion King. Who doesn’t love a cuddly pussy cat!! Sue W was luckily enough to win this awesome set. Would not have any worries sitting down and enjoying this set. Well done Sue, Congratulations.

Unfortunately I was unable to attend this month, so I could not get around to seeing some our fine members builds for the night.

PARTS DRAFT

While you are enjoying spending time with friends building Lego and chatting, you may have noticed some tables set up with people standing around them sorting and picking parts and feel intrigued on what is happening.

Before we wrap up this issue, a huge thank you to all those who attend our monthly Build Nights. It is so great to see everyone helping out setting up the tables and chairs, and then packing up at the end.

And that’s us all done and dusted for another month. But because slowing down clearly isn’t our style, the Buildapalooza will be back again next month. Join us at the next one on the 13th of July 2026. You’ll find us at our regular meeting spot at the John McGrath Pavilion, just off Hensman Street in South Perth. All are welcome.
