Welcome back to the Break Down. Whether you’re new here or already a member of our wonderful Lego community then I’ve got you covered for all that went down at our monthly Buildapalooza event last night. What a turnout; it was absolutely bustling and an absolute joy to see so many in one hall enjoying the hobby.
Entry to Buildapalooza is still just $5 and included is your chance to win an amazing door prize. We like to mix up the prizes and this month we gave away the awesome Creator 3in1 Majestic Tiger 31129 where you can see our very own review here! July’s lucky winner was Peter – congratulations and enjoy the set!

The Parts Draft was back again and in full swing. This is where participants have the opportunity to take home some great parts in actually useful quantities. Something for the MOC builders and honestly a pretty exciting experience I recommend everyone have a go at for themselves at some point. This month participants voted on the new Friends Botanical Garden. Some amazing pieces in that one! Want to get involved? Follow our Facebook page for the finer details and find out which set to bring along next month.

Oh, we also build Lego at these nights if you can believe it! As usual, there was so much variety in theme and scale. Below is just a tiny sample of what was brought to life last night. Krista’s red Ninjago dragon was fearsome while Tyron’s Star Wars Fang fighter was absolutely sleek. Meanwhile, Eleanor built the adorable Botanicals Orchid – quickly becoming a classic methinks.

Some folks dig into their own creations too and I noticed a number of people take up our ongoing 16×16 Minifig Module challenge! Chris and Jijin were gracious enough to let us in on their respective (Left & Right) works-in-progress. The competition is going to be fierce that’s for sure but also remember that this is a collaborative effort too! The deadline is the 31st of August and I cannot wait to see what you’ve all come up with. Seeing them all together will be incredible no doubt.

If you’re new to Buildapalooza or missed this build night, don’t fret, we’ll be back next month on the second Monday as usual – that’s the 14th of August at our normal time and place; 7-11pm at John McGrath Pavilion off Hensman st, Como. Absolutely all are welcome and we can’t wait to see you there!
