Did you miss Monday’s Buildapalooza? Did you miss who won the prizes? There’s always so much going on at our monthly build nights so let me catch you up on all the bits and pieces in this issue of the Build Night Break Down.
Some real quick info for those who might be new around these parts and wishing to come along to one of our build nights. Buildapalooza is PerthLUG’s regular social event where on the second Monday of the month we bring along a Lego set and just build and socialise. We’re a friendly bunch from all walks of life. It’s just $5 for non-members to help keep the lights on. More details at the bottom of the page.

Let’s just dive in with the giveaways shall we? The Members’ Draw saw three lucky winners take home great Lego sets. Of course, members have their name thrown into the draw even if they can’t attend the night. That does make it a little awkward to take a group photo when somehow ALL three winners are absent though! Ah well, such is the life of this Lego ‘reporter’ and the wonderful perks of membership. We appreciate all your support folks and our particular congratulations to these very lucky members:
Members’ Draw
Moana 2 Heihei 43272: Amy L
Lucky Bamboo 10344: Rob L
Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth 77037: Liam P

That’s not all for prizes just yet. Our extra optional bonus limited edition raffle was quite special indeed. This month, a $5 ticket gave you the chance to win one of two massive Harry Potter Diagon Alley Wizarding Shop sets. That’s a whopping 2750 piece set. Congrats to each Jenna and Paul – what a score!

Ok ok, now let’s move on from prizes to the Parts Draft. Up for the sacrificial sorting this month was the adorable Little Eatie: T. Rex 76967. I kinda feel sad for the lil’ guy; he’s just a wee baby! But also…them some useful parts. For those new here and a little confused, the Parts Draft is a great way to bring along one set and take home bulk-sorted parts for your collection. For more information, just follow us over at the PerthLUG Facebook page but in short, it’s a wonderful resource for any MOC builder.

My favourite part of the night is always seeing the variety of builds the fine folk of PerthLUG bring along. This month I sent out Hannah to be my eyes on the ground, and boy howdy, did she return with some great pics. Tim’s 1958 Fire Station and Church were pretty special to see and Matthew’s epic Space setup sure did bring back some memories. That monorail ahhh!

Theodore’s Ninjago Turbo Shredder was certainly very animated with its tank tracks and mighty maw. And not to be outdone, Tim’s Hero Factory Speeda Demon looked like it could really go too.

Penny’s apartment block MOC is well and truly underway. Must be at least a few storeys tall already. What a wonderful achievement Penny. I can’t wait to see it progress.

And what an absolutely lovely flower wall Kat was making here. The Botanicals theme has really gone and inspired so many of us: Wonderful to see.
There was really so much to see Monday night and I’ve included only a fraction of what was on show. With Easter rapidly approaching, our final highlight has to go to Joanne’s sweet array of mini Easter builds: some uncommon polybags and Gift With Purchase sets here. These are just too cute right??

And there we are, done and dusted for another month. A big thanks to all who joined us for the evening. What a wonderful night it was. If you’d like to come to one of our build nights, Buildapalooza is back again in April as usual on the second Monday (14th) at our normal time and place; 7-11pm at John McGrath Pavilion off Hensman St, South Perth. Everyone is absolutely welcome. Hope to see you there!
